Video Transfer

Preparing Your Project

Placing Your Order Online

Once you have collected your tapes together and have an idea of how many you have, it’s time to place your online order. The online order form allows you to choose which transfer package you would like.  The Standard Package comes with a custom printed disc, a custom designed DVD menu and two free chapter buttons.  The Premium Package includes a custom printed disc, a custom designed DVD menu, two free chapter buttons, and a custom designed DVD sleeve with pictures from your video transfer.

The next step is to estimate how many DVDs it will require to complete your project.  Keep in mind this is only an estimate, if you are unsure how many DVDs your project will require simply choose “1”.  We will contact you once your tapes have been imported with the exact amount of DVDs that your project will require.

You may also choose how many copies you would like of your project at this time.  Once again, if you are unsure how many copies you would like at this time simply choose “0”.  You may decide how many copies you would like once we have contacted you with how many DVDs your project required.

The next step is to enter your shipping and payment information. A down payment equal to about 50% of your final total will be due at this time. The remaining balance of your order will be paid when your project is complete.

When you have completed your order, you will receive a link to download a project worksheet.  This sheet allows you to fill in the titles of your project as well as the names of the chapter buttons if you require. Fill out this worksheet and send it in with your order. Shortly after submitting your order, you will receive an email with a pre-paid UPS shipping label.  Print this label and keep it for when you are ready to ship your project.

Your Project Worksheet

The first step in preparing your video tapes for transfer is to categorize and label your tapes.  Up to 120 min of video can be transferred to each DVD.  If your tapes are shorter in length, several tapes can be combined onto one DVD.  If your tapes are longer than 120 min, additional DVDs will be required.  Label your tapes with the title of the project that you would like to appear on the DVD menu, and that will be printed on the DVD.  If you are combining several tapes, label the tapes with the title that you would like to appear on the DVD as chapter buttons. If you are unsure as to the length of the tapes we can import them and then contact you will the exact length so that you may then decide how you would like them to be grouped

Mailing Your Videos

The next step is to wrap up your tapes up in a plastic bag to protect from moisture and include a lot of padding to prevent damage during the shipping process. Place your tapes in a good sturdy shipping box. Be sure to include your project worksheet with your order. Affix the pre-paid UPS shipping label to the box and then drop of the box at any UPS shipping location.

Use the number on the label to track your project on the UPS website.

Thank you for choosing Plastic Trees Studio, we are very excited to be a part of your project.
