Photo Restoration

Preparing Your Project

Your photographs can be scanned and emailed, carefully packaged and mailed, or brought in to our studio for restoration.

Placing Your Order Online

Pressing the Order Now button on the Photo Restoration home page will take you to a secure order form.  This form has detailed step-by-step instructions to guide you through the ordering process.  At this point, you may choose how many copies of your project you would like as well as the finish of paper you would like your completed restoration printed on.  If you choose to scan your photo yourself, you may upload it on this page.

The next step is to fill in the shipping and payment information. Once you have completed the ordering process, you will be directed to a link to a printable project worksheet that you will need to send in with your order.  If you have chosen to mail in your original, you will be receiving a pre-paid UPS shipping label via e-mail.  Print out this label and keep it for when you are ready to send in your photograph.

Scanning Your Photograph

If you choose to scan the photograph yourself, try to get the best scan possible as the quality of the restoration is dependent on the quality of the original scan. A scan of 600 DPI is optimal, with 300 DPI (at the size of the original) being the minimum.  We recommend a file size of at least 2mb for the best results.

Mailing Your Photograph

If you are mailing your photograph, take care in packaging.  Placing your photograph between two pieces of acid free paper and placing them in a mailer that will resist bending is a good start.  If your photograph is in a frame, there is a chance that the photograph has become stuck to the glass of the frame.  If this is the case, do not attempt to remove the photograph from the frame. Ship them intact so that the photograph does not incur any further damage. Wrap your photograph in a plastic bag to protect in from moisture and place it along with your project worksheet in a good sturdy shipping box.  Affix the pre-paid UPS shipping label to the box and drop it off to any UPS shipping location.

You may use the number from the label to track your project at the UPS website.

If you are a local resident and would like to bring your photograph to our studio, feel free to stop in so that we may assist you in person.

Thank you for choosing Plastic Trees Studio. We look forward to working on your project!
